The Commission on Nomadic Peoples calls for submissions for the 2025 Best Student Essay Prize on the broad topic of nomadic peoples, as defined in our journal.

A focus on pastoralism, uncertainty and resilience, and their intersections, is encouraged.

Best Student Essay prize of £250

and GUARANTEED OPEN ACCESS publication in Nomadic Peoples in 2026

 

Eligibility

Essays should have been written during the period of graduate study or soon afterwards (within a year of completing), and should not exceed 7,500 words.

Exceptionally, undergraduate students may also apply.
