A new IYRP2026 policy brief on pastoralism and carbon markets, authored by members of the Commission, is published!

In the latest “Outgrowing offsetting” policy brief, prepared by the IYRP Global Alliance Working Group on Pastoralism & Carbon Markets”, the authors argue that sustaining rangeland–pastoralism systems on their own terms, with the institutions that underpin them, is a valuable climate strategy in its own right—it does not need to be justified as compensation for continued fossil fuel use.
