The free Pastoralism in Development MOOC is back this year with a Gender Edition, in collaboration with the IYRP Gender Working Group.
The course runs from 9 November to 7 December 2026. It combines short self-paced modules (readings, videos and interactive activities, with online tutor support) with weekly live online discussions. The discussions focus on the perspectives, priorities and aspirations of pastoralist women. Participants will explore how pastoralist production systems make productive use of environmental variability. They will also challenge common misconceptions about pastoralism and development. A certificate is awarded on completion.
The course is open to all, whether you are a pastoralist, practitioner, researcher, student, community member or policy-maker.
Registration closes on 3 November 2026. Register here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/LcnvzyX22d
